I graduated from the California Polytechnic State University with Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Communication and a double concentration: Printing and Imaging Management + Design Reproduction Technology.

Graphic Communication Department at Cal Poly

Cal Poly’s Graphic Communication Department represents one of the best-known programs of its kind in the nation. The program is the largest in the western United States with over 33,000 square feet of modern laboratories, including two cutting-edge Macintosh laboratories: the Design Reproduction Technology Laboratory and the Electronic Publishing Laboratory. The department has one of the largest industry support programs in graphic arts education with the vast majority of its equipment and facilities having been donated by industry.

PIM Concentration

Printing and imaging management includes all facets of running companies involved in new and traditional media. This includes all segments of the printing industry such as prepress, press, and post press for commercial printing, publication printing, packaging, and related areas. It also includes management issues faced by equipment and supply vendors as well software and hardware developers for the graphic arts.

DRT Concentration

Design reproduction technology links design and technology, but it is not the study or practice of graphic design. It involves ensuring that a design is produced and then manipulated in ways that are optimal for its application.
